SOCKS & SHOES

How high can socks be? A.S.
Socks should be worn at the height that they were designed to be worn.  For example, girl's knee socks should be pulled to the knees, crew socks at the ankles, etc.  Athletic socks are not considered appropriate for school uniforms therefore boys would be expected to wear crew, ankle, etc. socks.  Keep in mind that socks and hosiery must be of the appropriate colors of black, white, brown, or navy blue (to include tights.)

Are "mary jane" style shoes allowed?  M.A.
Yes.  All fully enclosed shoes (toe and heel area) are allowed.

Can we wear shoes with as many colors as we want? D.G.
The code states: The style and color of shoes should be sensible and appropriate for school attire.

We are telling students that their shoes should "go with" their clothes.  For example: white, black, brown, tan, navy would be acceptable with any of the uniform clothing.  However red shoes would only be acceptable if they were wearing a red shirt.  Lime green would not be acceptable at all because that is not appropriate with the cluster colors.

Can students wear Nike athletic shoes, etc.
Yes, the code does not restrict brands of shoes or clothing.

Can girls wear skirts with Sperry's and no socks? R.A.
Yes, Sperry shoes can be worn with no socks.

Can girls wear tennis shoes that lace up to the knee?
Yes, this is a type of Ked tennis shoe and is permitted.

Can I wear boots? Keith
Yes, boots are permitted.
