Outerwear

Are hoodies allowed? F.W.
Hoodies are not allowed on sweatshirts, sweater vests or cardigans.   Hoods may be attached to outerwear jackets such as winter coats.  Students should not expect to be allowed to wear these hooded coats inside the school, however, as they are considered outerwear (intended for wear against the elements out of doors, in transit, etc.).

How am I going to afford a uniform coat?
Under the new policy, coats are only mildly regulated, and there are no "uniform coats".  Most families already have coats that will meet the policy.   Coats must fasten from top to bottom (zip or button).  That's it! How simple!  We have found jackets at local stores for under $25 that meet the policy and are perfect for our mild winters.

Can students wear sweatshirts with their school logo to school every day?  C.H.
Yes, however the collar of a shirt must be visible outside the sweatshirt.  Note: only pullover sweatshirts, without the kangaroo pouch pocket, are allowed.

Your site is very helpful! Thank You!  Are we allowed to wear button-up cardigans?  If so, is color an issue? What about sleeve length (long or 3/4 length)? Are blazers acceptable?
Cardigans are permitted and sleeve length is not regulated.  Blazers are also permitted.  Cardigans and blazers must be solid white or solid navy or your cluster color (NHS = maroon or gold, DHS = red or black).  Remember, no hood or belt on the cardigan.
